Advantages of 5G for all internet users

The internet is used everywhere across the world and has now become a necessity for the average individual and businesspeople alike. Technological advancements have greatly improved our daily lives with cellular technology in particular having progressed from 1G to the imminent 5G that is expected to come out in full swing by 2020. 5G is the next generation mobile broadband that will eventually replace, or at least augment, the 4G LTE connection. This technology promises many advantages for customers and here are the three main ways that 5G trumps 4G LTE:

  1. Speed

The bandwidth refers to the amount of data that moves in a network at that moment. 5G is reportedly said to be twenty times faster than 4G.

  1. More stable connection

With 5G, interferences in signal connection will no longer be a problem. The signal will come with much greater clarity to our devices. This is great news for people who work with the internet daily and they will no longer have to worry about meeting deadlines due to faulty internet connections.

  1. Improvement of latency

Latency refers to the amount of time it takes for a bit of data to be sent from one end and then received at the other. 5G promises to deliver a reduction in network latency, with its goal of reducing latency time to as little as 1 millisecond.

The 5G revolution is almost upon us and is expected to create a ripple of developments that will change daily life. If it delivers everything it promises to, many expect the introduction of 5G to underpin the fourth industrial revolution where everything is connected, processed and digitised. It is set to transform and advance many existing industries, as well as creating new ones.
